STONE-CAUSED DAMAGE IN THE CAR WINDOW! WHAT SHOULD I DO?

A damaged pane is a high security risk! In the event of stone-caused damage, you should visit one of our certified auto glass centers in Neu-Ulm or Ulm as soon as possible, as even small damage to the window can suddenly turn into a larger crack – and then the entire window must be replaced. As a certified specialist company, we offer you the repair and replacement of windscreens, side and rear windows from a single competent source. We act according to the principle of “repair before replacement”, because minor stone chip damage can usually be easily repaired. This saves you time and money without compromising security.

REPAIR OR REPLACE?

First we check whether a repair is possible or whether a new installation is necessary. The guidelines specified by law are decisive. The diameter of the stone chip must not be larger than a 2 euro coin and there are certain distances from the frame and the field of vision that must be respected. Repairs are generally not permitted in the driver’s field of vision!

If the criteria for a repair are not met or if the pane already shows cracks, we will replace the pane in original manufacturer quality. If the glass is damaged on the side or rear window, it must always be reinstalled.

If all the criteria for repairing the stone-caused damage are met, our auto glass professionals repair the damage with the help of a special repair process in which special resin is used in conjunction with vacuum and UV light. This is how we ensure absolutely safe repair in which only minimally visible contours remain.

After about an hour, you can pick up your vehicle and use it without any further restrictions.

Depending on your contractual agreements, the comprehensive insurance usually takes over the cost of stone-caused repairs. We would be happy to clarify the cost regulation for you with your insurance company.

WITH CASCO * | NEW INSTALLATION
If the damage is covered by your partial or fully comprehensive insurance, the new installation will only cost you the amount of your excess (usually € 150).
