The rust film makes no difference between new and used cars. The small rust particles quickly catch the eye, especially with silver, white and generally light shades of paint. The salt, which is aggressive for the car paint, is the main cause of flash rust, along with hot abrasion from brakes, which can occur on metallic and chrome-plated surfaces, preferably on sills, wheel arches, trim strips, bumpers and in the trunk area.
